The summer months from April to November are better. The peak season for tourists is from July and August. You may not find good accommodation facility during this time. Hence, try to visit this place between May and June, so as to get the warm climate without much of rush.
If you plan on sticking to just Copenhagen, then 3-4 days is enough. However, if you want to visit the nearby cities and destinations, you will need at least 7 days in Denmark.
